Step #1: Log in
Go to the website, students.weebly.com
Enter your username and password Choose a title for you website. This will go across the top of all of your pages. Next, choose a domain name. This is the address people will type when they go to your site. It is probably best to chose your name. |
Step #3 Begin building your site
We are now going to set up your homepage.
Click on Elements at the top of your screen. Weebly is set up so that you can drag "elements" into your page and then edit them. There are quite a few elements and they are organized into categories. (see picture). Lets start by dragging down a Title element. Click and drag the box that says Title down onto your screen. You will see that it nests on the screen when you let go. To edit this title, simply click on it and edit from there. You will see a little blue edit dialog box appear at the top of the window. This will allow you to do things like color the text, increase the font size, ect (see picture) |

Step #4: Create a Column
Drag down a "Two Column Layout" element under your title.
Drag a "Picture" element into the right side of the column. Drag a "Paragraph" element into the left side of the column. To add a picture, click on the blue box to edit. Next, go up to the edit bar and click Upload New Image. Navigate to the image you want and click Select. Click Publish to save your work and view your website. |
Step #5: Create your pages
We are now going to create the pages that your audience can click to around your work.
Click on Pages at the top of the screen. Next, click New Page. Give it a name. This name will appear on as the link so we will name it from the list of links that we though most important. Click Save. Notice that your new link has appeared on your homepage. |
